Meet HVWC Members
The growing HVWC community is made up of hardworking, gritty women who put in countless hours—along with plenty of sweat and tears of joy—into their training, riding, and racing. When they’re not conquering gravel, shredding mountains, or flying across pavement, they’re advocating for equal representation in races and helping grow the sport by hosting beginner rides, girls’ camps, and “how-to” clinics.

Mary Ann Hanlon
President
Mountain
A dedicated and inspiring leader, she brings over 30 years of mountain biking experience to her role as President of the Women’s Bike Club. Her journey began riding the Ghost Town Trail alongside her children, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport and community. Over the years, she has completed 11 MS 150 rides and competed as part of teams in multiple 24-hour mountain bike races, demonstrating both endurance and commitment.
Long before the formation of the HVWC team, she was already fostering inclusion and confidence by leading beginner rides for women, helping countless riders discover their strength on the trail. She is also the founder of the Girls Rock developmental program, empowering middle school girls to build skills, confidence, and a love for cycling. Her leadership continues to shape a welcoming, supportive environment for riders of all levels.

In 2018, Tanya had a vision of empowering more women to embrace bike racing and leisure riding. This led her to establish the HVWC Race Team. The team’s growth into a community club and the weekly rides they organize serve as a testament to the transformative power of encouragement and support among women. It shows that when women support each other, they can propel individuals to achieve goals beyond their wildest imaginations on and off the bike. Find out more…
